Whether your interest is in development or investment land on the
Azuero Peninsula and Veraguas or the little boom town of Pedasi, Boca Chica's bequiling bahias of the "Lost Coast",
the lovely mountain homes of
Boquete in the Chiriqui
Highlands, the unique rural charm of Cocle and Chiriqui Province and its provincial capital of David or a hideaway on the Caribbean in
Bocas del Toro or Colon,
our staff brings a wealth of knowledge, years of experience and vast
local knowledge to help you make an informed decision about your

| Volcan is the gateway to the upper Chiriquí Highlands,
breadbasket to Panama. A vast majority of the country’s abundant
fresh vegetables and fruits (especially strawberries and blackberries)
are grown on the rich volcanic slopes above Volcan around the area
known as Cerro Punta. Here, too, are commercial flower farms that
both Panama and consumers around the world. Just below Volcan,
pure breed horse ranches add a pastoral air to the rolling green
countryside. The village itself is comprised of some small stores, a
supermarket, a handful of restaurants and a fair number of budget
and medium-priced accommodations catering to tourists from both
Panama and abroad who come to Volcan to enjoy the unspoiled,
fresh beauty of the Chiriquí Highlands.
Springing up deep into the mountains are a few scattered eco-resorts
and luxury spas catering to the higher end guest. Some of these
properties are truly amazing, featuring manicured cloud forest gardens
and hot tubs perched at the edge of rushing mountain streams.
Residential development, such as one would find in Boquete, has yet
to reach the area around Volcan, although a few projects are now in
their infancy. Residents of Volcan would tell you that they like it that
way!
In terms of expatriate residents, Volcan tends to attract those who value
privacy and independence above social interaction and amenities. Volcan
offers outstanding value and incredible pieces of property for those
who prefer larger individual estates rather than the security and
predictability of a planned community.
The terrain around Volcan is typical of the Chiriquí Highlands. Set
against the backdrop of the ever important Volcan Baru and bordering
on Volcan Baru and Amistad National Parks, the cloud forest with its
dense emerald vegetation, abundant flora and fauna, fresh water
streams and waterfalls as well as numerous rushing rivers provides
endless opportunities to enjoy the natural beauty of Panama. The
little village of Bambito is home to the Bambito Hotel and trout farm
, for a couple of dollars, you can catch your dinner in the teeming ponds
full of rainbow trout. Or, you can simply walk across the street and have
a fresh trout dinner in the hotel’s dining room.
The long awaited road connecting Volcan (more accurately Cuesta de
Piedra, ten minutes down the mountain) and Boquete (Volcancito) is
well underway and will soon provide what will likely be one of the most
scenic highways in Panama as it winds its way through untouched
forest between the two towns. With the opening of the highway and
the value that property in Volcan tends to have, it is likely that the area
will see some fairly rapid growth in the next few years. |
