A short distance from Boquete lays a place called Caldera, perched amidst rivers,
mountains and lush plateaus. Tucked into the landscape you'll find Montañas de Caldera,
a luxury residential development built to international standards and backed by more
than a century's construction experience spanning three generations.

On the slopes above the little village of Volcan is an even smaller place known as Bambito.
Famous for its charming Swiss-style inn, Bambito is bordered by trout streams and ponds
teeming with fish. It is a magical place, serene and graceful, in a setting that rarely
fails to move even the most sophisticated globe-trotter or ardent nature lover.

People who choose the adventure of owning property in Panama often have questions about issues
impacting quality of life. Whether you are an investor, developer, permanent or part-time resident
you will be interested in health care, political stability, personal safety and comfort, weather
events, infrastructure, etc.
Panama's close association with the United States in this century has allowed the nation to develop
advanced medical facilities. There are specialists of every variety and many of the physicians you
will meet have been educated in North America. Health insurance is readily available, even to retirees,
at a small fraction of the cost you would find in the U.S. Medical fees and prescription costs are low.
In fact, Panama is becoming a destination for "surgery tourism" where people come for cosmetic or dental
procedures at a fraction of their home country's cost.
In spite of it's tumultuous past; Panama's government has been stable, peaceful and democratic since
the US ousted Noriega fifteen years ago. The 2004 election, won by Martin Torrijos, was judged free
and fair by international observers. Violent crime is the lowest in Central and South America. Police,
fire and ambulance services are well staffed.
Roads range from excellent to quite rough, depending on how remote your location. Bus services are
available throughout the country and taxis are abundant in major cities and tourist areas. Air service
is available from Panama City to David and Colon at a reasonable cost. Telephone, television and Internet
services are available at all locales and tap water is pure and safe to drink in almost every corner
of the nation.
Panama is in a tropical weather zone with a wet and a dry season. Near the sea and on the coastal plains
daytime temperatures average in the 80's while in the highlands it is much cooler. Panama does not get
hurricanes, typhoons, or tsunamis and its volcanoes are not active. There are no special inoculations or
health precautions required to visit Panama.
Consumer goods are readily available in larger cities. Modern supermarkets, home improvement stores,
furniture and appliance stores are all present, although selection and quality can vary greatly.
Certainly, in the largest cities, most anything can be found that a comfortable household would
require.
Conducting business is straightforward, although it's pace and language may sometimes frustrate the new
resident. The climate for investment, even at a modest level is as positive as the system will allow.
Certainly, the Panamanian government has done much to promote investment and interest from abroad.
As in any endeavor that involves your capital, it is always in your best interests to find the right
professionals to meet your needs.
There is a wealth of information available on the Internet about Panama. We urge you to explore
this wonderful nation, so full of opportunities in so many unique ways.
